The continuous yet gentle pressure applied against the discs by the band prevents what's known as the "Reed Effect" by preventing vibrations of the stoma while still allowing all normal functions.

Since this system applies pressure against the stoma, does it cause irritation or discomfort?
Most users report that they can wear this system for extended periods of time, including all day every day, without substantial discomfort. However, it is designed to allow users to "roll-down" the band or shirt to remove pressure from the pad to allow for a break. The great thing with this product, you can easily and quickly pause and resume the pressure which allows users to easily wear it as long as they are comfortable.
How is this system different from sound mufflers that exist from other companies?
Vibration Inhibition. Don't just muffle sounds. Our stabilization disc prevents the "Reed Effect," stopping noise-producing vibrations at the source.
Universal Discreetness. Ultra-low profile and 2-ply compression ensure the system is invisible under normal clothing.

Will this work for all bag types available for a colostomy?
Yes! This regular system works for all 1 piece systems. For 2 Piece systems, it's imperative to measure your bag's inner flange diameter. The majority of bags have a flange diameter 50mm (2 inches) or larger, however, some ileostomy bags are 40mm (1.57 inches). This information can be found on the side of the box or by measuring the flange with a ruler or tape. Please email Ostopaix@gmail.com with any questions. The huge majority of people can order the standard kit. Also, this system works independently with vented bags as they prevent air pressure from building up. If unvented bags are worn, it is imperative to "burp" the bags sufficiently to keep the internal pressure down or there will not be adequate pressure placed against the stoma.
Will this work system work for ileostomies as well?
Yes! This system functions the same for both types of ostomies. Additionally, we are working on customizing the process to allow for additional sizes. Stay tuned!
Can I buy and wear a different band or shirt to use with this system?
Certain compression shirts or ostomy bands may well still function with this system, however, all of our products provide a 2-ply section which is needed to apply consistent and appropriate pressure based on our measurement guidelines. Single-ply athletic shirts or bands may not adequately resist the natural functions of the stoma to properly support the correct continuous pressure.
How long do the discs last?
The discs are made from a soft but durable foam. As long as care is exercised when removing the system from your bag, they will last quite a while. The adhesive will last for at least 14 days worth of normal use. Please review our "videos" page to ensure you're using the best approach depending on the type of bag you use. Our Complete Kit contains 3 disc sets. The discs do not lose their effectiveness once the adhesive wears off.
