How To Measure for the Band

It's imperative to get an accurate measurement of your mid-section near the top of your bag to ensure the proper fit of the band.  Since everyone's exact stoma location is unique, and everyone's body shape is unique, we developed a universal band with varying widths to accommodate all body types. Once you receive the product, you can determine if it is more comfortable to wear it with the wider diameter on the top or bottom. It's generally recommended for individuals with flatter stomachs to use the smaller diameter on the top, and those with a more curvy shape to use the larger diameter on top.

Measuring Your Abdomen

Use a cloth tape measurer to measure the diameter of your abdomen near the top of where your bag usually sits. Be sure to measure your abdomen, in inches. This is NOT your pants size.

Note* If you do not have a cloth tape measurer, you can use a piece of string then use a standard tape to measure the string.

How To Measure for the Flange Diameter

All bags should come in a package that is labeled with the information needed. The Colostopaix System is not designed to work for diameters 49mm or smaller (1 7/8"). If your box does not display this information, see illustration below which shows how to measure this diameter.  Again, This system will not work for diameters smaller than 49 mm.
